Bilingual Advisory Committee

The Bilingual Advisory Committee (BAC) is an active, long-standing part of the Jose de De Diego community. The BAC is a group of parents who have children enrolled in the bilingual program at De Diego. It serves as a liaison between the parents and the administration. At monthly BAC meetings, parents are able to participate in school activities even though their first language may not be English. Meetings provide the opportunity for parents to express issues and concerns about their children in the bilingual program. The committee also sponsors guest speakers to come in and speak to parents in their native language about issues concerning their children directly.

The meetings are conducted in the native language of the majority of the parents attending. During the meetings, BAC promotes the opportunity for parents to build a community.
