Hello! My name is Ms. Rogers. This school year, I will be team-teaching a blended program in Room 005 with Mrs. Rodriguez. This includes children with disabilities in a regular education classroom. I have a B.S. degree in Elementary Education, an M.A. in both Special Education-Learning Disabilities and Educational Administration. I have taught at Jose De Diego Academy for 22 years and previously taught in the Archdiocese of Chicago for 10 years. I have taught every grade from Kindergarten to 9th grade and adult education (G.E.D.) classes. This is my first year in pre-school and hope this will be a rewarding experience for both your child and me. I appreciate your cooperation and patience with me and consider this to be a privilege to work with you and your child this year!

Mrs. Rodriguez
Hi, My name is Mrs. Rodriguez. I am currently the Early Childhood teacher here in Room 005. I work along Ms. Rogers in a blended program. We include children with disabilities with the regular-ed students. My degree is in Early Childhood and my Masters is in EC Special Ed. I enjoy working with children with disabilities and find it very challenging. I have been an Early Childhood teacher at De Diego for over 13 years and I have been at this school for 24 years. I love this community and I am proud to work in it. I also support the Aspira Club at De Diego. This club helps students learn about their culture, helps them learn leadership and how to work in the community. This is very important to me. I am looking forward to a great year.

Mrs. Safraneck
Hi! My name is Meghan Carthay-Safranek and I am thrilled to be teaching at Jose de Diego Community Academy for my fourth year. I am currently the full-day, four-year-old preschool teacher and could not imagnine doing anything different. I have one of the best jobs in the world! 🙂 In addition to teaching, I am currently pursuing my Master’s Degree at Northeastern Illinois University for Early Childhood Special Education. Outside of school I love to read and I LOVE anything Disney! Walt Disney World is my most favorite place in the world! 🙂 When I am at home, I have a very active 2-year-old daughter, Ava, who keeps me going and going!

Mrs. Christy Gregory
Hi, I’m Christy Gregory, the Pre-K teacher in room 105. This is my 1st year at de Diego, but I have been teaching Pre-K for 9 years- and I love it! I have my degree in Early Childhood Education with a Special Education Endorsement, and my Master’s Degree in Education. I am a proud wife and mother of 2 beautiful children; Anthony, 4 and Angelina, 2. I enjoy shopping, Soap Operas, spending time with family and friends, and taking long walks with my chocolate lab, Harley. I am thrilled to be part of the de Diego community!
